Antique vintage and incredibly rare Indian cuff pair made by the Saura tribe in Odisha (eastern Indian state)
The cuffs are made from melted down metals, have a hollow inside and quite heavy. The sides have flower engravings all around. Due to age, both these cuffs have lost their pins. 1 is hinged with a piece of old wood and just needs 1 pin replacement but the second one has lost both pins. Traditionally they would've been shut with a piece of wood but as these types of cuffs are becoming harder to source, this issue is becoming more and more common. I have a cuff like this which I have done the same for. But the price reflects this. Usually £90 for the pair but £70 now due to the missing pins.
The cuffs also doubled up as a weapon of self-defense for the woman wearing it as the edges are incredibly sharp. Please be aware of this as they so sharp they could cause injury.
These cuffs are so stunning and incredibly hard to find nowadays. I have been very lucky to be able to get my hands on some and was desperate to share them with the world.
